Culturally Responsive Trauma Informed Support Services for Jerome School District Students - Jerome School District Has Seen a Significant Increase in the Need for Trauma Informed Mental Health Supports Since COVID-19. Students Experienced Loss, Abuse, Neglect, and Isolation to Name Just a Few of the Negative Impacts of School Closure During the Pandemic. Many Systems and Services Have Been Put Into Place Haphazardly to Provide Assistance to as Many and as Quickly as Possible. But We Clearly See a Need to Streamline Our Process Across the District, Strengthen Community Partners, and Develop Our Capacity to Be a Culturally Responsive Trauma Informed System to Support All Students. the Following Goals Will Guide Our Work: Goal 1) Increase the Capacity of the District to Address Increased Student Behavior and Mental Health Support Needs Through Strengthening the MTSS Process Across the District. Goal 2) Increase the Capacity of Jerome School District Staff to Engage in Trauma Informed Practices and Create Cultures Within Each Building That Foster Safe and Stable Learning Environments That Prevent and Mitigate the Effect of Trauma. Goal 3) Increase the Capacity of the Community and Key Partners in Supporting Families Who Have Experienced Trauma. Goal 4) Establish a Local Interagency Agreement Among Jerome School District and Key Players in Supporting the Mental Health of Our Youth. Goal 5) Establish a Sustainability Plan This Grant Will Assist Jerome School District in Building the Capacity It Needs to Support Our Students in Today's World.
