Seneca County Post-pandemic Telehealth and Crisis Response Program - the Seneca County Post-pandemic Telehealth and Crisis Response Program of the Seneca County Mental Health Department (SCMHD) Will Provide Comprehensive CMHC Services, Including Telemental Health and Crisis Behavioral Health Services to Meet the Needs of the Community Resulting From the Pandemic. These Services Will Be Provided in Seneca County, New York, a Rural County in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York. the Population(s) of Focus for This Project Is Adults, Youth and Children With a Smi, Sed, Sud or Cod. Seneca County Is Designated as Medically Underserved and Health Provider Shortage Areas for Mental Health. the Rural Nature of This Area Along With Few Behavioral Health Providers, High Poverty Rates and a Limited Public Transportation System Presents Challenges for Access to Care. Telemental Health Services Established During the Pandemic, Including Outreach and Engagement, Resulted in Increased Volumes of Outpatient Care and Improved Engagement as Shown in Increased Show Rates for Scheduled Appointments. Yet, Law Enforcements Jurisdictions Experienced Significant Increases in Mental Health, Sud and Domestic Calls During the Pandemic Requiring a Crisis/emergency Response. as a Rural Community, Seneca County Employs a Partnership Collaboration Approach to Addressing Community Needs, Recognizing That the Increasing Behavioral Health Needs That Have Emerged Throughout the Pandemic Are Best Met Through This Approach. the Proposed Services Will Be Provided in Partnership With Law Enforcement, Schools and Related Community-based Organizations. a Total of 1,000 Individuals Will Be Served by the Project Over the 2- Year Period: Year 1: 500 and Year 2: 500. the Project Goals Are to: - Develop a Comprehensive Mental Health Crisis Services Program to Provide 24/7 Crisis Intervention for Individuals and Their Families in the Rural Community of Seneca County, Ny. - Provide Telemental Health Services for Person With Smi, Sed, Sud, Cod in Seneca County, Ny. - Provide Peer Advocacy/support and Recovery Support for Individuals With Smi, Sed, Sud, Cod and Their Families in Seneca County, Ny. - Develop Services to Support CMHC Staff in Maintaining Their Mental Wellness and Meeting Mental Health Challenges Resulting From the Pandemic. Seneca County Mental Health Department (SCMHD) Operates a Nys Office of Mental Health Licensed Integrated Outpatient Program. Scmhd Meets the Criteria Specified in 1913(C) of the Public Health Services Act for Designation as a CMHC. Scmhd Has Been Providing Outpatient Services in Seneca County for More Than 40 Years, as the Primary Provider for Mental Health Treatment and the Sole Provider for Sud Treatment in the County.
