The Eastern Panhandle-mental Health Awareness Training Initiative Will Provide Concentrated Mental Health Literacy Awareness Trainings in Mental Health First Aid for Youth, Adult, and Teen Models. - the Eastern Panhandle-mental Health Awareness Training Initiate (ep-mhati) Will Provide Targeted In-person and Virtual Youth Mental Health Awareness Trainings to Adolescents, Teachers, Other Relevant Public-school System Personnel, Youth-serving Agencies, and to Parents/caregivers. This Project Will Also Provide Adult-focused Mental Health Awareness Training to Law Enforcement, Medical Providers, Emergency Medical Service Providers (i.e., Firefighters, Emergency Services Technicians), Veterans, and Individuals Involved in the Courts Systems. the Ep-mhati Will Also Offer In-person and Virtual Tele-trainings to Additional Adult Serving Agencies in the Eastern Panhandle. Concentrated Trainings Will Take Place in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia (WV). the Eastern Panhandle of WV Is Comprised of Three Counties: Jefferson (population 57,146) Berkeley (population 119,171) and Morgan (population 17,884) Counties. the Eastern Panhandle Is Nestled in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Is Located Just Two Hours Away From the Metropolitan Area of Washington D.C. Despite Populace Growth and Majestic Appalachian Scenery, Eastern Panhandle Families Still Struggle With Challenges Related to Geographic Isolation, Transportation, Employment, Unmet Mental Health Needs, Substance Use Disorders, and Health Disparities. Morgan County Partnership (MCP) Will Serve as the Lead Agency Providing These Trainings. MCP Will Provide the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Approved Youth Mental Health First Aid (ymhfa), Adult Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) and Teen Mental Health First Aid (TMHFA) Trainings. Tmhfa Trainings Will Be Provided to 10TH, 11TH, and 12TH Grade Students in the Eastern Panhandle.
