Grantee Name Great Basin Bird Observatorygrant Number Tbdproject Title Applied Ecology of Greater Sage Grouse and Sagebrush Ecosystems at Local and Regional Scales a Proposed Study to Coordinate Ongoing Field Logistics and Data Collectionaward Purpose This Agreement Is Established to Facilitate Cooperation Between Usgs and Great Basin Bird Observatory (GBBO) in the Collection of Field Data Relevant to the Ecology of Greater Sage Grouse and the Sagebrush Ecosystem in the Great Basin Ecoregion. This Research Focuses on, and the Field Data Collection Is Related to, Four Highly Integrated Research Objectives 1) Predicting the Impacts of Wildfire Invasive Grass Cycles on Sage Grouse Population Dynamics and Sagebrush Ecosystem Resilience and Resistance 2) Predicting the Impacts of Mining Operations and Communications Infrastructure on Sage Grouse Habitat Suitability, 3) Continued Refinements to Protocols and Strategies for Local Sage Grouse Population Recovery Through Population Augmentation and Translocations, and 4) Developing a Greater Understanding of Direct and Indirect Predator Impacts on Sage Grouse Populations Locally, Regionally, and Range Wide, With a Focus on Common Ravens as Nest Predators.activities to Be Performed to Achieve the Objectives of This Agreement, Gbbo Will Hire, Train, and Provide Logistical Support for Field Technicians Who Will Be Tasked With Collecting Field Data Related to Greater Sage Grouse Demographic Rates, Spatial Distribution, and Habitat Use Across Multiple Sub Populations (study Sties) in Sagebrush Ecosystems Within Nevada and California. Gbbo Will Also Monitor Predator Communities, Translocation Efforts, Wildfire, and Vegetation Structure and Component Data.deliverables and Expected Outcomes Gbbo Will Provide Usgs With Electronic Copies of All Field Data Containing Information Collected Under This Agreement Within 30 Days of Field Collection.gbbo Will Provide Usgs With Monthly Account Summaries of Expenses.gbbo and Usgs Will Exchange Copies of Any Reports or Peer Reviewed Articles Documenting Study Results.intended Beneficiaries Descriptionsubrecipient Activities Description
