Utah 2022 Statemap Proposalproject Period: 07/01/2022 Through 06/30/2024IS Abstract Summarizes the Fy 2022 Usgs National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program Statemap Award for the Utah Geological Survey (ugs). for This Award the Utah Geological Survey Proposes Projects in Both Parts of the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program Statemap Opportunity. the Beneficiaries of This Work Include Various Geological Resource Interest Groups Such as Oil and Gas, Critical Minerals, Metallic Minerals, Industrial Minerals, Land Use Planning, Earthquake Hazard Reduction, Water Resources Both Surface Water and Groundwater, and the General Public of the State of Utah.in Part I (new Mapping), Guidance Category 1 (GC1), the Ugs Proposes to Complete New Geologic Maps of Seven 7.5' Quadrangles. All Are Top Priorities of the Utah State Mapping Advisory Committee (SMAC) Based on Long- and Short-range Goals, and All Have a Significance Ranking of 5 Out of 5 in Our Recent Evaluation of Quadrangles in Utah.in Part Ii (us Geoframework Initiative), We Propose Projects in Six of the Nine Categories. in GC3 We Propose to Complete the Final Mapping of Three Multi-year 30'X60' Quadrangles, for Compilation Into Our Statewide Intermediate-scale Map Series. in GC4 We Propose to Complete Data Compilation and Subsurface 3D Mapping Using Shallow Engineering Boreholes in One 7.5' Quadrangle in Salt Lake Valley. in GC6 We Propose to Complete LEVEL-3 Gems Geodatabase Compilations of Published Geologic Maps Ranging From 1 to 20 Years Old of Fire 7.5' and One 30'X60' Quadrangles.
