The Objective of This Project Is to Restore and Conserve Essential Pollinator Species Habitats Across Private Lands in the U.s. Virgin Islands. to Achieve This Initiative, the ST. Croix Environmental Association Will Create Education and Outreach Events and Implement Habitat Restoration Actions on Private Lands. These Actions Will Have Direct Positive Benefits to Federally Listed Species and Other Local Species of Greatest Conservation Need Including But Not Limited to the Danaus Plexippus Portoricensis (monarch Butterfly), Antillea Pelops (antillean Crescent), Native Bee Species Andhummingbird Species.the Conservation Strategy for Native Pollinators Will Entail Developing an Educational and Outreach Component to Actively Engage Private Landowners in Essential Habitat Restoration and Enhancement Practices in Their Lands Geared to Expand and Improve Essential Habitat. Strategic Workshops Will Include Educational and Outreach Actions for Landowners, Local Non-profit Organizations (ngos), and Community Groups That Manage Private Lands. This Will Also Be Achieved by Engaging Local Schools and Community Groups in Educational Outreach Events and Providing Materials About Pollinators and Native Plant Species.the Project S Goal Is to Increase the Participation of Private Landowners on the Island of ST. Croix for the Benefit of Federally Listed Pollinator Species as Well as Other Locally Protected Trust Species. Private Landowners Will Be Asked to Adopt Sustainable Land Management Practices That Improve Habitat Quality, Enhance Connectivity Between Fragmented Ecosystems, and Create Opportunities for the Future Range Expansion of Targeted Species. the Initiative Will Prioritize Practices That Will Address Resource Concerns, Build Habitat Resilience, Ensuring That Restored Sites Continue to Provide Critical Resources and Support the Long-term Survival of Pollinator Species.
