In Partnership With the Government of the Republic of Congo, African Parks (AP) Manages Odzala-kokoua National Park (oknp), One of Africas Oldest National Parks. Covering an Expansive 13,600 KM2 Area, Oknp Lies in the Heart of the Congo Basin, the Second Largest Rainforest in the World After the Amazon and One of the Most Biologically Diverse and Species Rich Areas on the Planet. the Park Is a Frontier Forest, Which Harbors Some of the Last Extensive Blocks of Unfragmented and Intact Forest Ecosystems. With Support From Strategic Donors Like the Us Fish and Wildlife Service (usfws), Ap Has Made Significant Strides in Establishing Strong Management and Stability, Resulting in Notable Conservation Achievements.the Purpose of This Project Is to Ensure the Long-term Capacity for Wildlife Conservation Is Strengthened in Oknp. This Will Be Achieved Through Targeted Community Development Initiatives, Mitigation of Human-wildlife Conflict, and Support to Health and Educational Interventions. to Promote Effective Governance, the Project Will Support Local Community Structures to Develop Capacity for Sustainable Project Management. Overall, the Project S Goal Is to Protect the Ecological Integrity of This Critical Conservation Area, While Fostering Collaboration With Local Communities and Stakeholders.
