Broadly, This Project Hopes to Create Connected Conservation Corridors by Linking All Permanently Conserved Lands in Alcs Four Strategic Focal Areas (map 1) Together. the Funding Requested in This Application Will Support the Completion of One or Two Conservation Project(s) That Will Take Place in One or More of These Strategic Focal Areas, and Will Assist With the Due Diligence Costs Inherent in the Permanent Protection of at Least 60 Acres of Habitat for U.s. Fish and Wildlife Service Priority Species. Alcs Hope Is to Successfully Complete a Project, Show the Value of Due Diligence Funding Assistance, and Apply for Additional Funds to Aid Landowners in These Strategic Focal Areas Into the Future.this Project Will Focus Entirely Upon the Completion of One or More Projects in Aiken County. Priority Species With the Potential to Have Habitat Protected via This Project, Based on Available Habitat in Alc Strategic Focal Areas, Include Chamberlains Dwarf Salamander, American Wood Stork, Red-cockaded Woodpecker, Bald Eagle, Shortnose Sturgeon, Monarch Butterfly, Little Brown Bat, Tri-colored Bat, Bog Spicebush, Florida Pine Snake, and Spotted Turtle.
