Over the Course of the Virtual Summit (2020) and the In-person Summit (2022) of the Central Grasslands Roadmap (CGR), Diverse Needs Were Identified and Workgroups Subsequently Formed. Many of the 600 Participants Discussed the Need to Invest in the Social Human Aspects of Grasslands, Including Working to Understand the Social Inequities, Social Issues and Human-dimension Facets That Put Grasslands at Risk. Nonetheless, a Social Working Group Per Se Has Not Yet Been Formed and Developing This Sphere of Engagement Requires Attention. the Indigenous Kinship Circle (IKC) Has Invested Significant Time in Building a Working Group (CIRCLE) for Broad Indigenous Engagement, Including a Focus on Social Equity and Respect of Diverse Worldviews and Knowledge Systems. the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) Has Included a Human Dimensions Pillar as One of Three Principle Project Areas for Their Grasslands Initiative. Participation by Ikc Members in These Activities Has Demonstrated a Clear Need for Bridging Social Science Investigation in Regards to Grassland Management (variously Defined), With Broad Engagement and Social Equity Research Across the Biome and Her Peoples. Support From the Usfws Will Help Advance and Better Integrate Social and Cultural Needs for the Grassland Biome Over the Next 2.5 Years.
