Pronatura Sur Will Contribute to the Goals Established in the Mesoamerican Pine-oak Forest and Golden-cheeked Warbler Conservation Plan 2020-2030 by Implementing Five of the Twenty-one Strategies Defined in This Plan: (1) Habitat Protection, (2) Forest Management and (3) Forest Recovery Through (a) the Protection of 1,300 Ha (3,212 Acres) of an Indigenous Community Forest (B) Establishing a Legal Mechanism for Conservation at Ejido La Albarrada, Through an Advc -area Designated Voluntarily for Conservation and (C) Strengthening the Ecotourism Project That the Ejido Has Launched 2 Years Ago, With Montetik Ecoturistic Park. (4) Education and Outreach: (a) Implement a Communication and Awareness Program With General Public From the City of San Cristobal, About the Importance of Montetik Park and Ejido Forests, as Providing Water to the People, Natural Resources, Places for Recreation, Among Many Other Environmental Services (B) Implement a School Program to Work With Teachers (3) and Children (50) of Ejido Schools, Using the Tale of Chipilo Crisopario, a Tale About the Full-life Cycle of Gcwa That Was Translated (in Phase Iv of This Project) Into Tsotsil, the Indigenous Language of La Albarrada: and (C) Train and Equip 3 Communitarian Monitors to Survey Birds and Biodiversity, as Well as Be Birdwatching Guides. (5) Research and Monitoring to: (a) Document the Ecology of Gcwa During Migration, Along Its Corridor on Sierra Madre Oriental in Mexico (B) Evaluate Opportunities for Conservation on This Important Stage of the Annual Cycle of the Species and (C) Evaluate the State of Fragmentation of Gcwa Winter Habitat in Mexico.
