The Stearns County Shoreline Habitat Projects 2022 Will Continue to Build on the Strong Habitat Restoration Andprotection Effort on Glacial Lakes in Stearns County.the Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District SWCD Has a Dedicated Lakeshed Specialist to Work With Lakeshore Owners on Habitat Projects That Restore Andprotect Fish and Wildlife Communities.landowners for Each Project Proposed Are Committed to Completing Ashoreline Restoration.each of These Projects Will Use Natural Techniques Native Grasses, Wildflowers, Trees,shrubs, Vines and Various Bio-engineering Techniques That Use Wood and Footer Rock Above and Below the Ordinaryhigh Water Ohw Level to Expand and Protect Fish and Wildlife Habitat.with the Restoration or Protection Ofnatural Shorelines Many Native Fish Species Will Enjoy Additional and Improved Habitat.the Property Ownerspersonal Experience Will Also Be Used to Promote Additional Projects and Habitat Connections.this Will Be Doneby Allowing Other Landowners and Contractors to View Project Sites Before, During and After Project Completion. Once Complete, Landowners Routinely Welcome Other Property Owners to View Their Properties to Understand the Benefits and Visually See What Changes Have Been Made. on Average, Coordinated Site Visits Like This Happen 12 Times a Year and Are a Very Effective Technique in Giving Shoreline Property Owners a Better Understanding of the Scope of a Project and the Multiple Benefits.
