This Project Will Complete the Design, Engineering, and Permitting for the Water Intake Dam Located on the Great Miami River in Sydney, Ohio. the Dam Provides a Consistent Water Supply for the City, So It Cannot Be Removed. Unfortunately, There Have Also Been Several Accidents at the Dam Where Canoers Kayakers Have Been Caught in the Dangerous Currents Coming Over the Dam. With the Great Miami River Being a Popular Destination for Paddle Sport Enthusiasts, Modifying the Dam to Remove This In-channel Safety Hazard Is Critical to the Future Success of Paddle Sports on This Stretch of the River.
