The Fort Wayne Rivers Fisheries Improvement Project Will Open 12.1 Miles of Flowing Water Through Replacement of Two Culverts on the Pierson Drain and Removal of the Spy Run Dam on Spy Run Creek. Riparian Restoration Will Be Installed at Both Projects and In-stream Habitat Improvements Will Be Made in Spy Run Creek. Additionally, a Feasibility Study Will Be Completed to Remove the Hosey Dam on the Maumee River Which Will Open an Additional 32 Miles of Flowing Waters After Its Removal. the Maumee River Is a Priority Watershed for Several Imperiled Mussels and Their Host Fish. This Project Will Significantly Improve Habitat for These Priority Species.
