Genetics Management Is a Critically Important Component of Species Conservation, Especially When Captive Propagation and Reintroduction Is a Possible Management Tool. Tripot Darter (etheostoma Trisella) Is a Federally Listed Species That Has Not Been Subject to Adequate Genetics Research. Furthermore, Us Fish and Wildlife Service Is Considering Captive Propagation and Reintroduction for Trispot Darter. to Ensure That Reintroduction Efforts Are Effective, We Will Develop a Genetics Management Plan for Trispot Darter. Specifically, We Will Characterize Genomic Diversity and Structure for All Known Trispot Darter Populations, Generate Baseline Genetic Data, and Develop Recommendations for Broodstock Sources. Genotyping Will Be Done Using the 3RAD Approach. Data Analyses Will Follow Standard Methods. Results Will Be Used to Develop Guidelines for Captive Propagation and Future Monitoring Efforts. a Genetics Management Plan Will Be Written for Long-term Conservation Efforts Fortrispot Darter.
