Since 2000, the Central Hardwoods Joint Venture (CHJV) Has Worked to Implement All-bird Conservation Objectives as Set Forth by the Various National and International Bird Conservation Initiatives Operating Under the Umbrella of the North American Bird Conservation Initiative (nabci). the Partnership Pooled Money to Hire a Coordinator in 2001, With American Bird Conservancy (ABC) as Their Employer. Abc Has Employed CHJV Staff and Handled CHJV Financial Agreements Continuously Since That Time. the CHJV Follows the Principles of Strategic Habitat Conservation and the Elements of the Joint Venture Matrix, Focusing on Priority Species and Population and Habitat Goals as Set Forth by the Various National and International Bird Conservation Initiatives Operating Within Nabci.while Implementation Related Directly to Putting Habitat on the Ground Is Largely Considered the Work of JV Partner Agencies and Their Staff, the Funds via This Cooperative Agreement Would Be Used to Support the Staffing and General Operating Costs of CHJV. the CHJV Coordinator Oversees the Day-to-day Operation of the CHJV Partnership and Supervises Other CHJV Staff. the Avian Ecologist Is Responsible for Performing or Coordinating Research, Data Analyses, and Population Habitat Modeling Interpreting the Results of New Research Relevant to CHJV Priority Birds and Communicating This to CHJV Partners and Monitoring and Evaluation Efforts Related to Biological Planning and Conservation Design. the Delivery Coordinator Communicates With Partners From Regional to Local Scales to Relay CHJV Population and Habitat Objectives and Help Find Ways to Achieve Those as Efficiently and Effectively as Possible. Funds Awarded Under This Agreement May Also Be Used to Leverage Other Contributions to Research, Monitoring, Communication and Delivery or Implementation Efforts If Agreed to by the CHJV Management Board Under the Dictates of Its Operating Principles.
