Goals and Objectives of Proposed Project Are to Increase Resiliency in Priority Native Brook Trout Headwater Stream by Improving Natural Stream Hydrology, Flow Conveyance, Passage of Brook Trout and Other Aquatic Organisms Under All Stream Flows, and Providing a Safer Road Crossing for Vehicle Traffic to Meet Objectives, Buffalo County and Township of Montana Are Proposing to Remove Two Undersized Pipe Culverts and Replace Them With a Bridge That Spans Danuser Creek Replacement of Culverts With a Bridge Will Reconnect 4 1 Miles of Stream for Native Brook Trout and Sculpin Improved Hydrology and Uninterrupted Flow on This State Designated Reserve Stream Will Allow Brook Trout to Freely Move to Spawning, Rearing, and Overwintering Habitat Reduction in Streambank Erosion From Culverts and Improved Sediment Transport Will Restore Natural Substrate for Trout Spawning and Recolonization of Invertebrates That Fish and Other Organism Feed Upon the Bridge Will Also Benefit the Local Community, Reducing Flooding Events That Impact the Productivity of Crop Fields and a Low Maintenance Crossing That Is Much Safer for Local Motorists and Use by Heavy Farming Equipment
