An Agreement Between the Placer Resources Conservation District and Partners Program Will Fund Projects to Restore Approximately 7 Miles of Stream/creek and 4 Acres of Riparian Areas. Individual Landowner Agreements Will Be Complete as Needed. Work Will Occur Within Placer County, Ca to Benefit Native Plants and Wildlife. Efforts Within Dry Creek Could Specifically Benefit Threatened Steelhead (oncorhynchus Mykiss). Work Will Begin August 1, 2022 and Will Be Completed by August 2027. Objectives of the Project Are: 1) Decrease Red Sesbania, a Non-native Species, Along Dry Creek and Its Tributaries; 2) Identify Existing Resource Concerns (other Invasives, Stream Bank Erosion, Plant Diversity Needs); 3) Enhance and Protect Riparian Areas Through Fencing, Planting, or Other Restoration Actions.red Sesbania Is Native to South America and Displaces Native Vegetation and Can Displace Wildlife and Decrease Streambank Stability When It Forms Dense Thickets.tasks Identified to Meet Project Objectives Are: 1) Planning and Permitting/compliance Work Which Will Start August 2022 and Is Anticipated to Be Complete in a Year; 2) Removal of Red Sesbania Along Approximately 7 Miles of Stream/creek and Pond Edge in the Dry Creek Watershed (hu - 1802011101). This Is Anticipated to Start May 2023; 3) Fence Construction And/or Planting to Enhance or Protect Approximately 4 Acres or More of Riparian Area. This Work May Start as Soon as August 2022 Pending Completion of Financial Assistance and Compliance Requirements. Planting Will Take Place as Appropriate by Season and Will Be Based on Species Requirements.monitoring Will Include Photo Point Work (starting 2022), Annual Reports (due December Each Year), Treatment and Restoration Inspections/site Visits (summer 2024/2025), and a Final Project Report. the Timeline for Each of These Tasks Is Included in a Work Plan That Has Been Agreed to by the Placer Resource Conservation District and the Partners Program. Additional Site Visits Maybe Required and Will Be Completed as Planned in Collaboration by the Two Parties in This Agreement.
