This Wood Loading and Floodplain Connectivity Project Will Improve Instream and Riparian Habitat in the South Fork of the Scott River. Two Side Channels Will Be Excavated Through Historic Mine Tailings to Increase Floodplain Connectivity and Create Slow Water Rearing Habitat for Salmonids. Willows Will Be Planted Throughout the Side Channels to Increase the Depth of the Riparian Corridor. Five Engineered Log Jams Will Be Constructed in the Main Stem of the South Fork Scott River to Increase Instream Habitat Complexity for Salmonids and Increase Activation of the River Left Floodplain.
