In 2004, Congress Passed the Snake River Water Rights Act of 2004, Public Law 108-447, in Which the United States and the Nez Perce Tribe Entered Into an Agreement for Joint Management of Hatchery Programs at the Dworshak National Fish Hatchery (NFH). as a Result, the Nez Perce Tribe (TRIBE) and U.s. Fish and Wildlife Service (service) Became "joint Managers" in the Operation and Management of the Dworshak NFH. Implementation of Joint Management Was Laid Out Through Several Memorandums of Agreement (MOAS) Between the Service and the Tribe. the Moas Identified a Hiring and Transition Plan for Service and Tribal Employees to Achieve a Goal of 50:50 (tribe:service) by 2020, Which Has Been Achieved. This Contract Provides Funding for the Nez Perce Tribe Employees at Dworshak National Fish Hatchery That Are Responsible for Operations and Maintenance.
