The Project Goal Is to Secure the Biodiversity Values of PMNP With a Focus on the Critically Endangered Northern White-cheeked Gibbon (nomascus Leucogenys) via Strengthening the 'no Kill' Zones and Related Local Capacity. the Project's Overarching Vision Is to Establish the First Evidence-based Conservation Project in Vietnam That Demonstrates How Ranger-based Patrolling in Combination With Community-based Approaches to Preventing Wildlife Crime ' Based on Sound Criminological Science ' Can Lead to Quantified Recovery of Priority Species. the Project's Objectives Are to, (1) Accurately Estimate the Gibbon Population and Map Its Distribution Inside Pu Mat National Park, (2) Professionalize the Community-based Snare Removal and Gibbon Monitoring Teams, and Their Use of Smart (spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool), (3) Introduce Situational Crime Prevention to Further Reduce Illegal Activity Inside the National Park, and, (4) Improve Local Capacity for Protected Area Management and Planning.
