This Project Will Exemplify the ''working Lands'' Conservation Ethic by Illustrating How Ranchlands May Increase Their Productivity While Improving Habitat Conditions for Fish and Wildlife. Current Land Use Consists of Managed Pasture Livestock Grazing on a Tidal Floodplain in the Coquille Estuary. Water Movement Through the Pasture Is Controlled by Multiple Tide Gates That Impede Fish Movement and Alter Estuarine Function. the Overall Restoration Goals for the Project Area Include But Are Not Limited to: 1) Reestablishment of Hydrologic Function to the Greatest Degree Possible While Accommodating Existing Grazing Use on the Property; 2) Increasing Accessibility for Native Migratory Fish Into the Tidal Marsh; 3) Increasing Aquatic Habitat Availability and Quality Through the Development of a Tidal Channel Network; and 4) Improving Water Management for Agricultural Use on Adjacent Pastures. This Ar Will Contribute Partners Funds Towards Construction Activities Beginning in 2019.
