Purpose: the Purpose of This Grant Is to Grow Indiana?s Bioeconomy Sector by Strengthening the Biotechnology Supply Chain and Commercializing Life-saving Medicines. Heartland Bioworks Tech Hub (bioworks) Will Cultivate a Skilled Workforce and Integrate New Opportunities for Bioworks to Establish the Indianapolis-carmel-anderson Region as a Global Leader in Human, Animal, and Plant Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing. Activities to Be PERFORMED:1) Provide the Infrastructure and Human Capital Needed to Effectively Convene and Coordinate Indiana?s University and Healthcare Stakeholders to Staff and Operate a Bioworks Headquarters for the Region?s Biotech Sector. 2) Evaluate the Performance of Bioworks as Measured Though the Recruitment, Training, and Placement of Workers With Guidance From Indiana?s Higher Education Institutions and Renowned Training Programs. 3) Establish Cyberinfrastructure, Policies, and Processes to Necessary to Ensure the Security, Collaboration, and Financial Success of Bioworks. 4) Keep Biotech Inventions Domestic by Implementing a Grant Program to Help Early-stage Innovators Access Product Development Facilities.
