The Guam Energy Office (GEO) Intends to Train 205 Individuals (140 New and 65 Existing Workers) as Well as 5 Contractor Firms Through a Comprehensive Training Program and Certification Targeting Resident Professions Such as Heat Pump Installation (hvac), Heat Pump Comfort Advising (hvac), Heat Pump Water Heater Installation, and Home Energy Audits for Single and Multi-families. Geo Will Enlist the Assistance of the Department of Energy’s Building Technologies Office to Work on Curricula and Certificate Programs. Occupational Focus Is Electricians, Hvac Mechanics and Installers, Plumbers, and Energy Auditors. Goals Will Be Achieved Through a Strong Partnership With Government of Guam Agencies, the Only Local Power Authority, Higher Education Institutions, Education/outreach/workforce Development Organization(s), the Mayors’ Offices, Contractors, and Local Community/non-profit Organizations. Each Agency and Organization Will Lend Its Expertise and Experience to the Success of This Program.
