American Samoa Government Territorial Energy Office (as Teo), in Partnership With Its Workforce Training Implementation Partner, Everblue, Will Partner With Community-based Organizations and Industry Partners, Recruit New Workers, Upskill Incumbent Workers, and Provide Contractor Businesses That Are Serving Single-family Homes And/or Multifamily Buildings With Training Options for Their Employees. as Teo Intends to Train 85 Workers, Including 30 New Workers, 55 Existing Workers, and 10 Contractor Firms. They Seek to: 1) Leverage Existing Workforce Programs for Enhanced Quality and Cost- Effectiveness, and 2) Build a Diverse Talent Pipeline Through Non-profit Partnerships, All While Upholding JUSTICE40 and Deia Values. as Teo Will Make a Diverse Range of High-quality Training and Certification Options Readily Available for Individual Energy Efficiency Job Seekers, Current Workers, And/or Employers in American Samoa. Workers Will Choose the Option(s) That Best Align With Their Career Goals and Skill Gaps, and Employers Will Be Able to Choose the Training Options That Best Address Their Specific Worker Needs. as Teo’s Training Curriculum Will Be Customized to the Unique Building Stock of the Territory, Whose Homes Are Constructed Differently Than Those in Mainland U.s. and Will Need to Be Translated Into Samoan. as Teo Intends to Use These Funds to Make Training Available to Existing Residential Energy Contractors From Other Trades Like Plumbers, Electricians, and Hvac Professionals.
