Electrochemically Mediated Air Separation Modules (em-asm) to Advance the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of a Novel Electrochemically Activated Oxygen Sorbent and Electrochemical Reactor Combination.the Project Targets the Development of a Scalable, Efficient, Cost-effective, and Durable Electrochemically Mediated Oxygen Separation Technology That Generates Oxygen of Sufficient Purity to Enable High-quality Syngas Production and Efficient Pre-combustion Carbon Capture for Hydrogen Production From Gasification of Biomass and Wastes. the Proposed Project Is Comprised of Four Major Technical Elements: (1) Theoretical Screening of Candidate Transition Metal (TM) Complexes via Molecular Modeling for Key Metrics for an Electrochemically Activated Oxygen Carrier Which May Include Reversible Potential, Solubility, and Oxygen Binding, (2) Synthesis and Experimental Screening of Promising Candidate TM Complexes, (3) Small-scale Reactor Design, Fabrication, and Testing of Promising TM Complexes, and (4) Modeling of Separation Processes With Single and Multiple Unit Operations, Reactor and Separator Modeling, Design for Scale-up, Techno-economic Modeling, and Staging With Conventional Membrane-based Air Separation Technologies.

Everything here is this single award's whole record — signed, amended, paid — not a fiscal-year slice. The by-year charts elsewhere split an award across the years it was committed; this page keeps it whole.
Committed is what the government has legally promised on this award so far. Contracts can also carry a ceiling — the maximum if every option is exercised. Unspent ceiling is headroom, not money owed.
The cash actually disbursed against this award. The gap from committed is the disbursement pipeline: promised, not yet cashed.
Each transaction is a signing event — an action that created or changed the award, dated the day it was signed — not a payment. Negative amounts are real: money de-committed at closeout or renegotiation.
One bar, the award’s whole arithmetic: paid out, then committed, not yet paid, then .
