The Objective of This Project Is to Perform Deep Energy Retrofits, Carbon Reduction and Electrification on 30 Homes on Native Reservations in Pine Ridge. This Project Specifically Addresses the Challenges and Weatherization Innovations Required to Achieve These Results for Clients Living in an Underserved Community (96% Energy Burden in Doe’s Disadvantaged Communities Reporter (DCR) - With Substandard Housing (95% Mobile Home in DCR)). a Minimum 50 Percent Reduction in Energy Consumption (as Measured in Site Btus) Is Targeted for All Homes. the Development and Application of a Catalogue of Measures and Approaches and a Corresponding Criterion for Selection of Applicable Measures Will Be Used to Achieve the Associated Energy Reduction as Well as On-site Photovoltaics, Renewable Technologies and Electrification. This Project Will Employ Accepted Building Science Measures in a Synergistic Combination to Achieve the Desired Results in a Cost-effective Manner to an Underserved Population and With Direct Services Delivered by a Native American Workforce Trained Specifically for Doe Enhanced Weatherization.
