Siemens Corporation Technology, New Competitive Agreement, Under Foa Number DE-FOA-0002459 (open 2021) With Project Title “pico-design: Protection-inverter Co-design for 100% Renewable Power Systems'' Proposed to Develop (a) Fundamentally New Protection Schemes and (B) Tools to Design These Protection Schemes for Inverter-dominated Renewable Power Systems. These Protection Schemes and Tools Will Allow for Gradual Migration From Synchronous-generator-dominated to Inverter-dominated Power Systems and Provide at Least the Same Level of Protection in Future Grids as Today. This Will Allow Grid Operators to Run Their Systems With Lower Emissions and Lower Electricity Costs.
