The Washington Metrorail Safety Commission (WMSC) Is Applying $2104481 in Ffy 2021 Section 5329 Funds. These Funds Will Be Used for All Organizational and Program Related Activities of the WMSC in Executing an Effective State Safety Oversight Program for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Metrorail System.the WMSC Is a Designated Recipient of 5329 Funds. All Matching State/local Funds Required for the Utilization of These Grant Funds Are Provided by District of Columbia State of Maryland and Commonwealth of Virginia. the Local/state Match of $526120 Will Be Provided by the Three Jurisdictions in Equal Shares of $175373. Purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Provide 5 Years of Operating Assistance to WMSC During the Period of 7/01/2022 to 6/30/2027. Activities to Be Performed: Funds Will Be Used to Cover All Eligible Operating Expenses Such as Salaries Benefits Office Space Contracted Support for Human Resources Legal It State Safety Oversight (SSOA) Program Work Accounting and Other Direct Expenses Needed to Operate the WMSC to Execute the Sso Program. Expected Outcomes: Funding Will Permit WMSC to Continue to Conduct All Required Organizational Needs to Support the Execution of an Effective Sso Program as Mandated by 49 CFR 674 to Oversee the System Safety of the Wmata Metrorail System. Intended Beneficiaries: Metrorail Riders Metrorail Personnel Local Jurisdictional First Responders and the National Capital Region Will Benefit From the Outcomes of the WMSC State Safety Oversight Work. the Result Being a Safe Wmata Metrorail System. Subrecipient Activities: Nonefta Certified the WMSC as a 49 CFR 674 Compliant Financially and Legally Independent Ssoa on March 18 2019.
