The Kosrae State Government Has Been Granted Funding to Renovate the Kosrae Women?s Handicraft Center, a Community Asset Situated in Tofol, Lelu Municipality. This Initiative Aims to Empower Over 500 Members of the Kosrae Women?s Association by Enhancing Their Access to Economic Opportunities Through Value-added Production for Tourism. the Current Structure, While Historically Significant and Centrally Located, Is Underutilized Due to Deteriorated Facilities and Limited Accessibility. Through Modest Infrastructure Improvements, Including Targeted Remodeling of the Center, the Project Will Provide a Dedicated Space for Women and Girls to Design, Produce, and Market Locally Inspired Handicrafts and Sustainable Goods. This Low-cost Renovation Will Support Inclusive Growth, Stimulate Community Entrepreneurship, and Increase the Visibility of Women's Cultural Contributions. Activities Will Include Engaging a Licensed Contractor for the Remodeling, Installing Basic Technologies for Product Display and Creation, and Launching Outreach Campaigns to Encourage Use of the Center by Women?s Groups Across the State. in the Short Term, the Project Will Activate a Key Tourism Venue and Offer Immediate Livelihood Benefits.
