Application Purpose: City and County of Denver Will Construct a Project With Limits Covering the Length of the Original 12.5 Blocks of the Mall From Market Street to Broadway From Building Face to Building Face the Triangular Plaza at Broadway and Portions of Cross Streets Intersecting the Mall by Design-build Project Delivery. the Overall Project Scope Includes a Spatial Reorganization and Rebuilding of the Transit Way Lanes and Pedestrian Spaces; Intersection Improvements; Lighting Replacement and Upgrades; Upgrades to Utilities and Traffic Control Devices; Tree Replacement; Signage; Custom Street Furnishings; Potential Accommodations for Future Technologies and Associated Ancillary Work. the Federal Funds Within This Award Will Only Be Used for Construction of 12 Blocks of the Transitway and Will Include a New Granite Pavement System Underground Infrastructure and Bulb-outs at Cross Streets.; Activities Performed: the Primary Elements of the Original Award Remain Largely Intact. These Are: Paver Rehabilitation (new Pavers With Increased Traction for Safety) Sub-base Reconstruction Intersection Bulb-outs Earth Work (to Facilitate Sub-base Reconstruction and Utility Upgrades) Urban Design Elements (not Eligible for Grant Funds) Mall Livability Elements (not Eligible for Grant Funds); Expected Outcomes: the Federal Funds Within This Award Will Only Be Used for Construction of 12 Blocks of the Transitway and Will Include a New Granite Pavement System Underground Infrastructure and Bulb-outs at Cross Streets.; Intended Beneficiaries: RTD Has Been Awarded a Bus Livability Grant to Improve the Foundation Work and New Pavers for the 16TH Street Mall Shuttle Busway.; Subrecipient Activities: RTD Will Utilize Subrecipients for This Award.
