Community Project Funding/congressionally Directed Spending - Construction - Rural Ems Providers Must Travel Longer Distances Per Run Due to the Larger Service Areas and Lower Population Density. Mora County Covers 1900 Square Miles With a Radius of 50 Miles From the Ems Base. the Number of Ems Calls in Mora County Has Increased by Over 100% Over the Last Four Years From 100 Calls a Year to Over 400 Last Year. Mora County Ems Provides Emergency Medical Care to Residents Experiencing Trauma, Overdose, Mental Health Crisis, and Other Medical Emergencies. Access to Ems and Efficient Prehospital Care Is Critical to Mora County Residents. Mora Ems Serves a High Population of Geriatric and Disabled Patients Who Live in Remote, Hard to Reach Areas With Limited Access to Modern Conveniences. During the Fires and Floods From HPCC, Ems Service Was Heavily Impacted by Increased Demand in Rural Communities. Disaster Related Road Damage, Difficult Terrain, Adverse Weather and Long Transport Distances in Remote in Hard to Reach Geographic Regions Have Placed an Undue Burden on Mora's Ems Equipment. This Project Will Provide Our Ambulance Service With Modern Technology and Equipment for Flight Transport to Stroke and Trauma Centers. Grant Funds Will Serve the Taxpayers of Mora County by Providing the Community With a Modern Efficient Ambulance With 4X4 Capability and a Helipad for Airlift. This Will Improve Prehospital Care for the Region.
