This Long Term Plan Defines Improvements to the Service Delivery Process and Identifies the Need for a New Public Health Facility, Which, When Sharing the Site of the County’s Existing Swinburne Social Services Center, Will Create a Wake County Social Services and Public Health Campus. the Current Public Health Building Has Been a Mainstay for Wake County Public Health Since the Late 1980’S. the Facility Has Served the Community Well But Due to Population Growth, Changes in How Service Is Delivered, and Inflexibility of the Building Design, the Ability to Provide a High Level of Service With Innovative Modern Service Delivery Is No Longer Possible. the New Facility Will Consist of a 154,000 SF Building to House a Variety of Health Clinics, Along With Pharmacy and Lab Facilities, as Well as Ancillary and Complimentary Social Services Programs. This Proposed New Building and Its Location Will Facilitate Full Access to High Quality, Effective Health and Human Services for Wake County Residents. Funding Is Requested to Support Procurement, Fabrication and Installation of Moveable Equipment. for This Project, This Scope Is Defined as “general Furniture,” Which Includes Work Station Desks, Cabinetry, Shelving and Task Chairs Within the Clinical Areas, and Seating and Side Tables in All of the Various Waiting Areas That Surround the Clinical Areas. the Scope Also Includes Exam Furniture Located in the Dental Operatories. the Furniture Layout Concept Supports a New Operational Workflow Model That Organizes the Clinic Spaces Into Neighborhoods, Where Staff Navigates to Clients to Provide a Variety of Needed Services, Rather Than Forcing Clients to Navigate Through Out the Building. the Overall Goal Is to Provide a Safer Environment for Both Clients and Staff Alike. the New Facility Has Been Designed to Follow Service Delivery Visionary Goals and Be Flexible Enough to Adapt to Future Service Delivery Changes.
