Currently the 40+ Staff Are Housed in a 7500 SQ Foot Facility That Does Not Adequately Accommodate the Space Needed for Investigative Services, Advocacy, Medical and Mental Health Services. the Proposed Expansion Would Include Additional Medical Clinic Space And/or Mental Health Treatment Rooms in the New Southern Nevada Children’s Advocacy Center (sncac). Currently There Are 1800 – 1998 Intakes That Come Through Our Doors Every Year. Our Goal Is to Provide a “one Stop Shop” for Children Who Have Been Victimized by Sexual Abuse and Exploitation as Well as Children Who Have Suffered Severe Physical Abuse or Have Witnessed That Kind of Abuse With Their Siblings And/or Parents. We Serve All Children in Clark County Who Have Made an Outcry of Abuse; Specifically Sexual and Extreme Physical Abuse. Unfortunately, Sexual Abuse Impacts All Races, Ethnicities and Economic Statuses. When Children Come to Our Site, Their Voices Are Heard. Justice Is Sought and Safety Is Determined So That These Children Can Heal From Some of the Most Secretive and Destructive Forms of Abuse. Both Physical and Mental Health Needs Are Served on Site, and It Is Our Goal That Every Child Gets the Attention They Need to Piece Together What Has Been Broken in Their Lives. Expanding the Sncac Will Allow Us to Meet Needs and Provide More Services More Adequately. Every Child Deserves a Change to Live in a Just and Safe World and When That Does Not Happen, They Need to Know That the Re Is a Place Where We Strive to Support Them on Their Road to Healing.
