Community Project Funding/congressionally Directed Spending - Construction - Finkelstein Memorial Library Enrichment Center Addition for Mental Health Services the Finkelstein Memorial Library Will Construct an Addition to the Library to House the Enrichment Center to Provide Low-cost or Free Mental Health Services to Homeless or Low-income Clients in Rockland County. the Library Is Currently Partnering With VCS (formerly Volunteer Counseling Service of Rockland County Inc.) to Create a Space to Provide These Much Needed Services. the Existing Building at 17 S. Madison Avenue, Spring Valley, Ny 10977 on the Grounds of the Finkelstein Memorial Library Will Be Demolished in the Fall of 2023, and Construction Will Begin on an Addition to House Space for Free Mental Health Services to the Community. Currently, VCS Has Agreed to Provide These Services, But the Library Also Has Support Also From Nami Rockland, and the Mha. the Scope of the Project Is to Demolish the Existing Structure, and Build a Replacement Addition to the Library With Separate Space Constructed for VCS Including Individual Soundproof Counseling Rooms, a Reception/waiting Area, a Small Conference Room, a Separate Bathroom, Separate Entrance, and Two Classrooms for Their Programs (such as Their Domestic Violence Prevention Class). Grant Program Funds Will Be Used for the Construction of the Addition, With the Completion of the Counseling Rooms on the First Floor. Specifications: - Waiting Area With Seating for 5 Clients - Reception Area With Privacy Screen (double Mirror) for the Receptionist - VCS Staff Office With 5 Cubicles Large Enough to Have a Computer, Desk, and Chair for Each With Room for the Central Copier, Scanner and Fax and Cabinet to Store Office Supplies O VCS to Maintain the Copy/fax/scan Machine With Paper, Ink, Etc. - 5 Clinical Soundproof Office Rooms for the Actual Counseling Sessions With Enough Space for 4 People - 1 Soundproof Conference Room With Enough Space for 10 People Which Can Also Be Used as a Clinical Room - It Closet T Hat Has a Locked Door and Good Ventilation - Restroom - Ground Level Location With Separate Entry From the Library (for Security Purposes) This Will Be Demolition and New Construction Beginning in October 2023 to Be Completed in August 2026. No Equipment Will Be Purchased as Part of This Application. All Equipment in the Counseling Rooms Will Be Supplied by VCS.
