Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Improve the Wayfinding System at the Salesforce Transit Center (CENTER) the Six-level Multimodal Transit Hub in Downtown San Francisco. the Wayfinding System Allows Transit Riders to Efficiently Navigate and Access the Current Transportation Connections They Depend on From Eight Bay Area Counties. After the Center Opened to the Public It Was Determined Through Substantial Public Feedback That the Wayfinding Systems Required Improvements. Due to the Size and Multimodal Makeup of the Center Consisting of Four Open Levels and Several Major Entrances and Exit Points It Is Difficult for Riders and Visitors to Navigate to Their Transit Connections And/or to Other Parts of the Center Potentially Causing Lost Time for Travelers and Commuters.updates to the Wayfinding Signage Will Allow Visitors an Enjoyable Experience at the Center Supporting Facility Access for All Transit Passengers Including Individuals With Disabilities Limited English Proficient (LEP) Populations and Passengers Traveling on Several Title Vi-designated Minority Transit Lines Serving the Center.; Activities Performed: This Project Will Replace and Expand Digital Signage Throughout the Center Including Updating Media Players Touchscreens and Information Kiosks; and Improve Physical Directional Signage Throughout the Center Which Will Conform to MTCS Regional Standards.; Expected Outcomes: the Improved Wayfinding System Will Make It Easier for the Bay Areas Diverse Communities (from San Francisco Alameda Contra Costa San Mateo Marin and Santa Clara Counties) of Transit Riders to Navigate the Center and Reach Their Connections. the Center Is Within Walking Distance of Equity Priority Communities With Riders Relying on Accessing Their Transit Connections Reliably and Quickly.through the Multimodal Center These Communities Are Provided Transit Connections to Not Only Multiple Locations Throughout San Francisco But Also Throughout the Bay Area and Megaregion. Our Transit Partners Include Sfmta Bart Ac Transit Westcat Lynx Golden Gate Transit Samtrans and Paratransit. Updating the Wayfinding System at This Center Will Only Increase Commuters Positive Experience of Taking Transit Increase Their Motivation to Take Transit to Their Destinations and Increase Access to the Free Activities Offered at the Rooftop Park.; Intended Beneficiaries: This Project Will Benefit Transit Riders From San Francisco Alameda Contra Costa San Mateo Marin and Santa Clara Counties and Visitors to the Centers Retail Businesses and Rooftop Park.; Subrecipient Activities: None; No Subrecipients.
