Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Purchase Zero Emissions Buses to Provide Transit Public Outreach Countywide to Install Electric Bus Charging Infrastructure and to Initiate a New Demonstration Bus Line in a Corridor Without Previous Bus Service.; Activities Performed: Bus Procurement for Thousand Oaks Transit and Moorpark City Bus; VCTC Countywide Transit Outreach; Bus Charger Installation for the Thousand Oaks Service Center Serving Both Thousand Oaks and Moorpark; and New Bus Service Between Fillmore and Santa Paula.; Expected Outcomes: Funding Will Permit Ventura County Transportation Commission to Increase Public Awareness of VCTC and Its Programs and Services. Thousand Oaks Transit and Moorpark City Bus Purchase of Electric Powered Buses Will Help Meet the States Emission Reduction Goals Set by the California Air Resources Board (carb). Installation of Bus Chargers to Serve Both Thousand Oaks and Moorpark Will Facilitate the Deployment of Zero-emission Buses. the New Bus Service Will Address an Unmet Transit Need for Service Where There Currently Is None.; Intended Beneficiaries: Projects Included in This Grant Award Will Specifically Benefit the Riders of Thousand Oaks Transit and Moorpark City Bus as Well as Riders Who Need Service Between Fillmore and Moorpark. More Generally the Project Will Benefit Residents Countywide Due to Lower Traffic Congestion Resulting From Increased Transit Mode Share and the Entire Planet Due to CO2 Emissions Reductions Associated With Deployment of Zero Emission Transit Vehicles.; Subrecipient Activities: Zero-emission Bus Purchase by the City of Thousand Oaks Transit and Moorpark City Bus Deployment of Electric Charging Infrastructure by Thousand Oaks.
