1. Award Purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Increase the Understanding of Non-native Species of Terrestrial Gastropods, Flatw Orms, and Earthworms Introduced and Established in Hawaii, With Special Focus on Those Inadvertently Transported by the Horticultural Industry and With the Potential to Impact Agriculture. 2. Activities to Be Performed: the Proposed Activities Consist Primarily of Surveys of Horticultural and Agricultural Facilities on the Largest Hawaiian Islands: Kauai, Hawaii Island, Maui, Oahu, Lanai, and Molokai. From These Surveys the Cooperator Will Develop a List of Target Species, Vouchers of Specimens, and Dna Library From Which to Rapidly Identify and Distinguish Novel Invaders From Those Already Established. 3. Deliverables and Expected Outcomes: the Cooperator Will Develop an Updated and Searchable Database on Non-native Snails, Earthworms, and Flatworms in Hawaii. in Addition, a Dna Barcode Database Will Be Created and Shared With Biosecurity Stakeholders. 4.
