This Initiative Encompasses a Collaborative Effort Involving Numerous Public and Private Partners Across the Local Food System Including Farmers Ranchers Processors and Other Stakeholders Involved in Food Production Directtoconsumer Markets Local Food Promotion Environmental Policy Producer Support Food Distribution and Higher Education. the Projects Anticipated Outcomes Include Improved Viability and Resilience Within the Regional Food Economy as Well as the Implementation of Solutions Addressing Persistent Challenges Related to Food Access. the Team Will Create an Emergency Plan for Postdisaster Scenarios and Host Regular Meetings to Foster Collaboration and Relationship Building Among the Partners. the Primary Beneficiaries of This Project Are the Farmers and Consumers Within the New Orleans Region With a Particular Focus on Supporting Those From Lowerincome Populations.
