Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Procure Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Buses Facilitate the Construction of a New CNG Fueling Station and Fund Workforce Development.; Activities Performed: Replace Outdated Buses With New Ones to Improve Public Transportation Services. the Buses Are Expected to Operate Efficiently for the Next Twelve Years or Until They Reach 500000 Miles. Construct a CNG Stations to Enhance the Infrastructure Supporting Sustainable Transit Operations. the Infrastructure Should Be Robust Enough to Sustain Operations for at Least Forty Years. Invest in Workforce Development Programs to Ensure That There Is a Skilled Workforce Capable of Supporting Sustainable Transit Initiatives. This Includes Training and Education to Equip Workers With the Necessary Skills and Knowledge.; Expected Outcomes: This Project Will Enable the Birmingham-jefferson County Transit Authority to Continue Providing Safe and Reliable Transportation Services to the Citizens of the Greater Birmingham Alabama Area.; Intended Beneficiaries: Bjcta Bjctas Patrons and the Residents of the Birmingham Metropolitan Area Will Benefit From This Project.; Subrecipient Activities: None
