The Nenana Broadband Project Award Will Provide Funding for the Creation of a Thoroughfeasibility Study to Establish a Coordinated and Strategic Approach Towards a Construction Readydesign for the Rural, Unserved Community of Nenana, Alaska. the Proposed Study Will Assessfeasibility of Deploying a Fiber Network in the Village Amongst Many Existing, Poorly Documentedburied and Overhead Utilities. the Study Will Consider the Financial and Practical Risks Associatedwith Developing a Broadband Network and Contemplate Future Operations and Maintenancestructures for New Tribally Owned Infrastructure.as Outlined in the NTBG Funding Opportunity Notice, This Project Aligns With the Purposeof the Grant Program With the Objectives to Improve Quality of Life, Spur Economic Developmentand Commercial Activity, Create Opportunities for Self- Employment, Enhance Educationalresources and Remote Learning Opportunities, and Meet Emergency and Law Enforcement Needs Bybringing Broadband Services to Nenana, Alaska.upon Completion of the Scope of Work, Nenana Native Association (the Federallyrecognized Tribe), Emergency Services, Schools, and Community Framework Will Be Connectedto the World and More Effective, Making Residents Safer, Healthier, and More Economicallycompetitive.
