Description:the Award's Purpose Is to Provide Funding to Support Pollution Prevention Training and Technical Assistance to Las Vegas Restaurants and to Encourage Them to Get Green Certified in the Nevada Green Business Program. Green Up Will Work With 30 Restaurants in Underserved Communities to Develop a Reusable Takeout Container Program That Would Eliminate 150,000 Styrofoam Containers From the Landfill and Significantly Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions. the Goal of the Project Is to Reduce the Use of Plastic Utensils, Plastic Cups and Plastic Water Bottles by the Restaurants and Their Customers Using Marketing Campaigns. This Assistance Agreement Provides Full Federal Funding in the Amount of $121,000.00. Pre-award Cost Have Been Approved Back to 01/01/2023.ACTIVITIES:ACTIVITIES Include Building Capacity for Restaurants to Transfer P2 Techniques and Lessons Learned to Their Communities by Tailoring Marketing Promotions for Reusable Takeout Containers to Their Customers. They Will Provide P2 Technical Assistance to Restaurants in Spanish and Provide Information in English, Spanish and Tagalog. They Also Plan to Hire a Spanish Speaking or Multi-lingual Employee to Provide P2 Training and Technical Assistance to Bipox Las Vegas Restaurants to Become Green Certified and Members of Their Community on the Environmental and Cost Saving Benefits of Reducing Plastic Takeout. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated and Expected Deliverables Include 30 Certified Green Restaurants in Las Vegas With the Reduction of 10,080.751 Waste and 1,319,566 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduced. the Intended Beneficiaries Are Restaurants in Las Vegas and Bipoc Communities.
