Description:the Purpose of This Project Is to Improve Imperial County's Air Quality Conditions and to Develop Strategies to Address Air Quality Issues. the Recipient Will Continue Strategic Planning and Evaluation, Compliance Assistance, Monitoring Air Emissions, Rulemaking, and Other Program Activities to Improve and Maintain Imperial County's Air Quality. Specifically, the Recipient Plans to Conduct Work on the Border to Support Clean Air Initiatives, Including a Media Campaign in Mexicali, Air Quality Index (AQI) Media Advertisement in Spanish and English, Aqi Information at Imperial County's Largest Mall and Priority Expansion of Dust Camera Monitoring for the Mexicali-imperial Valley Region. This Grant Agreement Provides Partial Federal Funding in the Amount of $359,150. Pre-award Costs Are Approved Back to 7/1/2023. Activities:staff Support for District Planning Efforts and for Air Quality (AQ) Task Force. Educate the Community on Air Quality Including Consequences of Burning on Air Quality. Give Aq Reports at Local High Rating Station in Spanish and English With Weather Twice/day. Expand Efforts to Share Aqi on Both Sides of the Border. Increase Public Awareness of Aqi and Health Impacts. Post Health Is on Mall Marquee in El Centro. Expand Recording of Events That Impact the Air Quality of the Mexicali-imperial Valley Region to Better Understand the Causes and Effects They Have on Population. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:deliverables and Outcomes Will Include a Year Round Media Campaign in Mexicali Improving Awareness of the Consequences of Open Burning. Aqi Media Advertisements in Spanish and English. Post Aqi at Imperial's Largest Mall to Increase Public Awareness of Aqi and Health Impacts. Expansion of Recording of Events That Impacts the Air Quality of the Mexicali-imperial Valley With Installation of Two Additional Camera's in Mexicali.
