Description:this Project Provides Funding for Los Angeles Conservation Corps to Recruit, Train, and Place Unemployed and Underemployed Residents of Los Angeles, Ca in Environmental Careers With Skills Needed to Safely Conduct Remediation Work at Solid and Hazardous Waste-contaminated Sites. the 40-HOUR Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response (hazwoper) Will Serve as the Core Training of the Curriculum. This Will Be Supplemented by 166 Hours of Training in Workplace Safety, First Aid/cpr, Asbestos Abatement, Lead Abatement, Mold Remediation, and Health and Safety Risks of Entering and Working in Confined Spaces. This Assistance Agreement Provides Full Federal Funding in the Amount of $200,000. Pre-award Costs Have Been Approved Back to 7/1/2022.ACTIVITIES:THIS Project Will Train Graduates to Earn Skills and Certifications Necessary to Enter Into Environmental Careers. Activities and Training to Be Performed During Under This Project Are Recruitment, Screening, Tracking and Placement. Training Will Include the 40-HOUR Hazwoper Certification, 32-HOUR Asbestos Abatement Certification, 24-HOUR Lead Abatement Worker Certification, Cal/osha General Industry Standards Certification , Confined Space Awareness and Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting. Trainees Will Complete the Program Holding Three Federal, Two State, and Three Industry-recognized Certifications. Trainees Will Also Receive a Federal Credential That Helps Increase Employability With the Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card, Which Is Valuable When Applying for Jobs in and Around Major Transportation Facilities.subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:this Project Will Provide Training to [include Target Area as Well as Target Groups of Population Entity Is Serving With This Program]. the Anticipated Deliverables for Are: 60, 54 and 48 Individuals Will Be Recruited, Trained, Certified, and Placed in Environmental Careers in Communities Impacted by Solid and Hazardous Waste Sites and Facilities. 9-12 of Classroom Style Trainings, Practical Trainings, and Curricula Modules. 8 of Appropriate Certifications in Environmental Sampling and Site Cleanup Methods. 60 of Individuals That Receive Certifications in Osha 29 CFR 1910.120 40-HOUR Hazwoper Training.
