Description:the Purpose of This Assistance Agreement Is to Build Capacity for Assessing Wetland Recovery Efforts in Supporting Regional Wetland Health and Resiliency. Specifically, the Project Will Produce a Regional Monitoring Program for the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project (WRP). This Assistance Agreement Provides Partial Funding in the Amount of $146,000. Refer to Terms and Conditions. Activities:tasks Include: 1- Development of Project Governance and Priorities 2- Development of Wetlands Regional Priority (WRP) Regional Monitoring Program 3- Development of an Example WRP Site-specific Monitoring Plan. the Project Will Advance the Monitoringand Assessment/regulatory/voluntary Restoration and Protection/water Quality Standards Core Element(s) and the Strategic Goal of Protecting Wetlands and Water Quality. Expected Beneficiaries Are State of California Agencies Such as State Water Board, Federal Regulators, Project Developers, Restoration Specialists, Mitigation Bankers and in Lieu Fee Sponsors, Because It Aims to Create a Consistent Approach/protocol for Regional Monitoring. Subrecipient:subaward Activities: California Coastal Commission: Provide Regulatory Agency Insight and Guidance in the Development of the Regional Monitoring Program. Central Coast Wetlands Group: Coordinate With Statewide Monitoring Efforts, Help Refine Monitoring Indicators, and Help With Sentinel Site Selection. Southern California Coastal Water Research Project: Develop All Components of the Regional Monitoring Program and Coordinate Input From the Other Grantees. the Bay Foundation: Incorporate Previous Monitoring Indicators Developed in Southern California Into the Regional Monitoring Program.outcomes:products/output Will Be: 1- Sentinel Site Criteria (eg Sub-region, Wetland Type, Condition Score) and List of Selected Sentinel Sites 2- List of Wetland Health Indicators and Associated Statement of Procedures 3- List of Sea-level-rise Resilience Indicators and a Conceptual Model Linking Resilience Indicators With Wetland Condition and Drivers 4- Identification of Mechanisms for Implementation, Funding, and Data Management 5- Culmination of Products in a WRP Level 3 Regional Monitoring Program Document.
