This Agreement Will Implement a Project Which Demonstrates Documentable Reductions of Ozone and or Particulate Matter (PM 2.5) Air Pollution in Nonattainment Areas That Epa Has Determined as the Top Five Most Polluted Areas Relative to Annual Ozone and PM 2.5 Standards. Direct Emission Reductions in the West Mojave Desert Nonattainment Area Will Be Attained by Replacing an Uncontrolled and Unregulated Diesel Locomotive With a New Tier 4 Diesel Locomotive. This Assistance Agrement Provides Full Federal Funding in the Amount of $3,183,465. Pre-award Costs Approved Back to October 1, 2020.
