Description:the Agreement Provides Funding Under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to the South Coast Air Quality Management District to Replace In-use, Non-zero-emission Heavy-duty Vehicles With New Zero-emission Vehicles to Reduce Air Pollution and Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Epa Region 9. the Recipient Will Replace Approximately 126 Eligible Vehicles With Comparable, Eligible Zero-emission Vehicles Under the Vocational Vehicles Sub-program, Resulting in Cleaner Air and Improved Health for the Communities in and Around the South Coast Air Quality Management District Region in California. This Agreement Provides Full Federal Funding in the Amount of $33,898,522. Refer to Terms and Conditions. Activities:the Activities Include Replacing Eligible Internal Combustion Engine Class 6 and Class 7 Vehicles With Eligible Zero-emission Vehicles; Purchasing, Installing, Operating, and Maintaining Charging and Fueling Equipment to Maintain the New Zero-emission Vehicles; and Providing Workforce Development and Training to Support the Maintenance, Charging, Fueling, and Operation of the New Zero-emission Vehicles. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include Replacing Eligible Box Trucks, Transportation Refrigeration Units (TRU) Trucks, and Step Vans From Three Fleets. the Replacement Battery Electric Vehicles Will Be Supported by Approximately 94 Chargers, Existing Chargers at the Fleets, and Public Truck Charging Stations. the Project Will Also Implement a Comprehensive Engagement Program That Complements Existing Efforts to Uplift Community Priorities and to Provide Equitable Benefits From the Transition to Zero- Emissions Technologies. Workforce Training Is Also Prioritized to Ensure the Successful Deployment of Battery Electric Technologies While Providing High Road Job Opportunities. the Expected Outcomes Include Estimated Annual Emission Reductions of 599,236 MT CO2E, 29,434 LBS of Nox, 558 LBS of PM2.5, and 775 LBS of Diesel Particulate Matter, and Lifetime Emission Reductions of an Estimated 7,190,837 MT CO2E, 353,212 LBS of Nox, 6,698 LBS of PM2.5, and 9,475 LBS of Diesel Particulate Matter Are Expected. the Intended Beneficiaries Include the Communities Who Live and Work in and Around the South Coast Air Quality Management District Region.
