Description:this Agreement Provides Funding to South Tahoe Public Utility District to Implement Its Project for Critical Water Infrastructure Replacements as Directed in the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act or as Identified in an Approved Technical Correction If One Has Been Approved for This Project. This Agreement Provides Federal Funding in the Amount of $1,000,000. See Terms and Conditions. Activities:the Activities to Be Performed Include the Execution and Implementation of a Drinking Water Infrastructure Construction Project. Workplan Activities Consist of Waterline Upgrades and Fire Hydrant Instillation. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include: Final Planning, Design, and Construction Specifications, Bid Documents; Proof of Solicitation; Executed Construction Contract; Photos of Project Implementation and Completion, Pay Estimates and Change Orders (submitted With the Reimbursement Requests); Project Completion Certificate. the Expected Outcomes Include: 1) Reduced Water Loss: Waterline Improvements Will Decrease the Frequency and Severity of Leaks and Breaks, Which Helps Conserve Water Resources and Reduce the Need for Additional Water Extraction. 2) Enhanced Water Quality: Upgraded Infrastructure Will Result in Cleaner, Safer, and Contaminant-free Water for Consumption. 3) Increased Resilience: Infrastructure Improvements Will Enhance the Ability to Provide Adequate Fire Flow During Extreme Weather and Wildfire Events. 4) Improved Efficiencies: Infrastructure Improvements Will Be More Efficient by Reducing the Amount of Water Extracted and Lost Due to Leaks. 5) Decreased Pollution: New and Upgraded Infrastructure Will Minimize Leaks, Which Frequently Collect Sediments, Nutrients, and Chemicals Before They Seep Into the Ground. These Improvements Will Prevent Contaminants From Reaching the Groundwater Table, Flowing Into Nearby Water Bodies, or Entering Storm Drains That Discharge Directly Into Lake Tahoe. 6) Protect and Preserve Groundwater Sources: Reducing Leaks Ensures That Water Is Not Over-extracted, Thereby Keeping More Water in the Environment for Use During Droughts and for Habitats That Depend on Groundwater Sources. the Intended Beneficiaries Include Residents of the Greater Lake Tahoe Basin.
