Description:the Purpose of This Award Is to Provide Funding Under the Inflation Reduction Act to the Oxnard Harbor District Port of Hueneme. Specifically, the Recipient Will Conduct Emissions Accounting Exercises, Stakeholder Engagement, Workforce Development, and Emissions-reduction and Resilience Planning. This Assistance Agreement Provides Full Federal Funding in the Amount of $1,211,600.00. Pre-award Costs Approved Back to December 1, 2024. See Terms and Conditions. Activities:the Activities Include Developing a New Source Emissions Inventory for the Port of Hueneme, Analyzing the Feasibility of Emissions Reduction Strategies, Hosting a Series of Trainings With Stakeholders to Inform Port Planning, Developing Workforce Skills, and Conducting an Assessment of Potential Climate Vulnerabilities and Potential Resiliency Measures. Subrecipient:subaward to Ventura County Community College District for Workforce Impact Analysis.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include Preparing Annual Inventories of Port-related Emissions by Source Type and Quantity at the Oxnard Harbor District Port of Hueneme, Developing a Resilience Plan to Outline Vulnerabilities and Mitigation Strategies, Conducting a Workforce Impact Analysis, Developing a Plan to Outline Emission Reduction Strategies, and Conducting Community Trainings and Engagement. the Anticipated Outcomes Include an Increased Understanding of Current Port Emissions, Transparency in Port Planning Activities, Increased Capacity of the Port to Make Strategic Long-term Investments to Reduce Emissions, Increased Capacity to Improve Resilience to Current and Future Climate Change Impacts, Understanding of Workforce Needs for Zero-emission Transition, Access to High-quality Port Jobs for Near-port Communities, New Training and Job Opportunities, and Increased Stakeholder Participation in Port Planning and Decision-making to Advance Environmental Justice. the Intended Beneficiaries Include the Oxnard Harbor District Port of Hueneme (grantee), and Ventura County Community College District (partner and Subawardee), Which Will Play a Key Role in Conducting Analyses, Stakeholder Collaboration, and the Workforce Impact Analysis. Additional Beneficiaries Include the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District (partner), Which Will Play a Key Role in Helping the Port Develop Emissions Inventories and Emission-reduction Strategies, and Southern California Edison (partner), Which Will Support Resilience Planning.
