Description:this Agreement Provides Funding From the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (iija). Epa's Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling (SWIFR) Grants for States and Territories Will Fund Activities That Support Long-term Planning and Data Collection Needs to Demonstrate Progress Toward the National Recycling Goal and Food Loss and Waste Reduction Goal and Advance a Circular Economy for Materials, as Well as Support the State-led Implementation of Plans to Advance Post-consumer Materials Management. the Purpose of This Award Is to Enhance the Missouri Environmental Improvement and Energy Authority (EIERA) Efforts to Meet the Swifr Grants Elements. the Eiera Will Update Its 2005 Missouri Solid Waste Management Plan That Addresses the Current Landscape for the Recycling Industry and Market Conditions. the Updated Plan Will Include a New Missouri Market Development Plan and a Sustainable Organic Materials Management Plan to Support State-led Implementation Plans to Advance Post-consumer Materials Management.activities:the Activities to Be Performed Are: Update the 2005 Missouri Solid Waste Management Plan to Provide a More Concise Document That Identifies Priorities and Implementation Strategies. Two Additional Plans Would Be Incorporated Into the Existing Plan: a Statewide Market Development Plan; and a Sustainable Organic Materials Management Plan. These Three Plans Will Be Shared With the 114 Counties in the State of Missouri Through the 20 Solid Waste Management Districts at State Conferences and Meetings. .subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include: Updated 2005 Missouri Solid Waste Management Plan, a Statewide Market Development Plan, and a Sustainable Organic Materials Management Plan. the Expected Outcomes Include: Rescue and Donation of 'usable' Food to Food-insecure/ej Areas of the State; Recovery of Food Waste/organic Materials for Animal Feed; Recovery of Organic Material for Biochar and Other Agricultural Uses; Increased Landfill Diversion in Number of Tons Diverted; Increased Support for Local Governments to Address Climate Goals and Circular Economy Goals and Action Plans; Number of Jobs Created. the Intended Beneficiaries Include the Local Governments Who Will Use the New Plans to Identify Implementation Strategies for Diverting Materials From Landfills and Improve Recycling in Their Communities Statewide; Residents in 114 Counties in Missouri; 20 Solid Waste Management Districts in Missouri; the Missouri Department of Natural Resources; and the Eiera.
