Description:this Agreement Provides Funding From the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (iija). Epa's Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling (SWIFR) Grants for Political Subdivisions of States and Territories Will Fund Activities That Will Result in a Significant Decrease in the Generation of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) And/or an Increase in the Diversion of MSW From Landfills and Incineration, as Well as Fund Innovative Solutions and Programs That Provide or Increase Access to Prevention, Reuse, Mechanical Recycling, Anaerobic Digestion, and Composting. the Purpose of This Award Is to Enhance County of Ocean's Ability to Meet the Swifr Grants Elements. Specifically, the County Will Make Four Separate Upgrades to the County Materials Recycling Facility: an Artificial Intelligence Optical Sorting Analyzer, That Will Analyze and Suggest Improvements to Materials Sorting Facility-wide; an Eddy Current Separator That Will Increase Recovery of Aluminum; and a Plastic Film Air Conveyance System, That Will Sort Plastic Film, Reducing Machine Jams and Down Time, and a Baler for Plastic Film Storage. Activities:the Activities to Be Performed Are Competitive Purchase and Installation of Equipment and Software to Upgrade and Modernize the Materials Recovery Facility of Ocean County, NJ. Engineering Consulting Support Services Will Be Utilized for the Successful Implementation of the Grant Activities. Following the Completion of Equipment Installation, at Least a Full Year of Analysis and Measurement of the Improved MRF Performance Will Be Conducted. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include Purchase of an Artificial Intelligence Optical Sorting Analyzer, That Will Analyze and Suggest Improvements to Materials Sorting Facility-wide; an Eddy Current Separator That Will Increase Recovery of Aluminum; and a Plastic Film Air Conveyance System, That Will Sort Plastic Film, Reducing Machine Jams and Down Time, and a Baler for Plastic Film Storage. at Least One Year's Worth of Analysis of the Improved MRF Metrics Will Be Conducted, and Included in the Final Report. Beneficiaries Include the Residents of Ocean County, NJ, 100% of Whom Are Served by This MRF
